(Singapore and Sydney, Australia – April 6, 2018) – Blue Ant Media’s Beach House Pictures and Northern Pictures announced today that hit pre-school series, Teddies, Season 2 is now in production. Co-produced by Beach House Kids and Northern Pictures and commissioned by partners Network Nine and okto jr, Teddies 2 will land on both channels in late 2018 and early 2019, respectively. Blue Ant International will oversee worldwide licensing for Teddies 2, which will be presented at MIPTV 2018.

Created for pre-schoolers, Teddies 2 features four adorable Teddy Bear friends: Dom, Meeks, Sparky and Tizzy who live in the cuddly world of Teddytown. These four are best of friends and like all friends, love to hang out together, have fun, go on adventures and they even have their own band!

“Producing Teddies has been exceptionally fun and we believe that this truly comes across on screen when audiences are watching. This is a series that encourages a true co-view audience, with kids and their parents laughing along together,” said Susan Oliver, Head of Beach House Kids.

“With Teddies, we wanted to explore all of the lessons and triumphs that kids everywhere experience growing up. In Season 2, our audiences can expect more fun and role playing and hopefully will have even more understanding about how to navigate their own complex social interactions,” said Catherine Nebauer, Head of Northern Pictures Kids.

“At our recent okto Kids Fiesta event in January, the Teddies mascots were wildly popular with the crowd of 10,000 kids and parents. We are very happy to commission the second season of Teddies so that kids can continue to engage with the characters,” said Michelle Chang, Lead, English Audience, Mediacorp. “okto is a brand that parents trust. We take immense pride in providing children with content that’s fun yet purposeful, and strikes the right balance between education and entertainment.”

Created by renowned Australian puppeteer and Creative Director of Beach House Pictures, Sean Masterson, Teddies 2 is executive produced by Susan Oliver, Head of Beach House Kids and Catherine Nebauer, Head of Northern Pictures Kids. Mark Barnard serves as Script Producer.

Beach House Kids, a division of Beach House Pictures, was established in 2013 and is one of Asia’s leading kids producers with a library of over 200 hours of content. Key productions include the award winning children’s factual series, Kids vs Film, which was the first local commission for Discovery Kids Asia; original pre-school series, Hiccup & Sneeze, created for OKTO; and live-action puppetry series, Teddies, co-produced with Northern Pictures Kids in partnership with Network Nine and Okto Junior. Beach House Kids has also produced more than 80 hours of programming for ZooMoo, a children’s nature broadcaster, airing programming that combines spectacular wildlife footage with puppetry, animation and narration for the Kids 2-7 category.

Northern Pictures, based in Sydney, Australia, is a leading producer of original content for both the Australian and international markets. Its factual division delivers large-scale factual television and feature documentaries with a focus on wildlife and social issues. In 2015, Northern Pictures expanded to create Northern Pictures Kids. With a library of 200+ hours of content and 100 hours in production, Northern Pictures Kids is rapidly gaining a reputation for its entertaining, nature-inspired programming that excites and engages young audiences in the preschool and kids space, while expanding into scripted, comedy and adventure content.
