(Cannes, FR – October 15, 2018) – In celebration of MIPCOM’s country of honour, China, Blue Ant International, a transatlantic distributor of premium content and division of Blue Ant Media, announced today its latest partnership with CCTV, which will bring 60+ hours of programming from its celebrated 4K nature and wildlife library to CCTV-1 (Mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong) and CCTV-10 (Mainland China). Blue Ant International’s content library also includes an array of premium stories across several categories, now refreshed with 250+ hours of new programming.

“China is an important market for us and buyers across all platforms are looking for the highest quality programming,” said Solange Attwood, EVP, Blue Ant International. “Working with CCTV to populate their platforms with our stunning natural history series and documentaries, created by some of the best wildlife and nature producers in the world, truly showcases the strength of our programming offer at MIPCOM.”

CCTV-1, the national flagship terrestrial television network of the People’s Republic of China, has acquired three titles from Love Nature’s celebrated production project with Plimsoll Productions: Camp Zambia. The two-year project produced over 50 hours stunning natural history series and documentaries, captured with cutting edge cameras and a military-grade, Selex thermal imaging camera. Selections include Life’s Journey (Season 1; 3×60’), Monkey Island (Season 1; 3×60’) and Valley of Flood and Fire (Season 1; 3×30’). From global factual entertainment producer, Off the Fence, the media company has opted for Africa’s Wild Horizons (Off the Fence; Season 2; 5×60), which explores Africa’s most diverse ecosystems, important breeding grounds, critical migration paths and popular watering holes; and Land of Gremlins (Off the Fence; Season 1; 3×60) a three-part series that introduces wildlife fans to Madagascar’s exotic rainforests, tropical dry forests and some of the world’s most fascinating creatures, including the endangered Silky Sifaka lemur and Ploughshare tortoise. The channel has also acquired Wild Castles (Season 1; 5×60’), which was created by Taglicht Media for Love Nature and visits five famous castles throughout Europe, while discovering the natural world around them, in addition to Ananey’s Wild Israel (Season 1; 5×60’) and Mysteries of the Mekong (Season 1; 10×30’), produced by Antidote Productions.

Science and education focused CCTV-10 has also acquired titles from Love Nature and Plimsoll Productions’ Camp Zambia project, including The Big Dry (Season 1; 3×60’), Tales from Zambia (Season 1; 7×30’), Wild Survivors (Season 1; 3×60’). Opting for titles from Off the Fence, the broadcaster has picked up Africa’s Claws and Jaws (Off the Fence; Season 1; 4×60) where viewers can explore some of the most dangerous animals known to man, including the great white shark and the black mamba; and Wildlife Icons (Off the Fence; Season 2; 6×60’) which showcases the Big Five of the Savannah: Lions, African Leopards, the Rhinoceros, African Buffalo and the African Bush Elephant. Another pick includes Deadly Australians (Season 1; 4×60’), from Wildbear Productions, which takes an up close and personal look at the secret lives of Australia’s most notorious killers, including the world’s most venomous snakes, deadly jellyfish, monster crocs and venom-laden spiders. Rounding out the sale is a lineup of Blue Ant Media original productions, including Animal Senses (Season 1; 6×30’), Mysteries of Evolution (Season 1; 6×30’), Strange Creatures (BAM HDTV; Season 2; 6×30’) and The Big Feed (Season 1; 13×30).
